Feng Jing Watertown in Jin Shan District of Shanghai

Josh (in blue and brown striped shirt) looking at the crabs with Grant and Callan. A view from our boat ride.

Frog leg I got to try. It tasted pretty good, but I just had a little of it......
Getting ready for our meal (Tian Mei, Coby, Grant, Callan, Josh and Sara Jane from L to R).

One of the peasant paintings on the wall on the way to the ancient watertown.
Yesterday, it was pouring down rain. Today, it is gorgeous and about 22 degrees Celsius. Today we had an adventure to Feng Jing Watertown. I went along with my friend, Chailey and her son and daughter. The trip was supposed to take about 1 1/2 hours to get there. It took 3 hours. I can't believe I did this, but we did it. We took a stop on the highway for a "pit stop" of sort and yes, I did find some bushes, too. You do what you have to when in another country, I suppose! Modern conveniences like 7-11's with bathrooms are just not here, there were probably 4 or 5 other cars that stopped during the time we did this, too. So we got that out of the way and we were on our merry way.

So now to Feng Jing Watertown. It was a lot of fun. I love the watertowns. Jeff thinks they are boring. He wasn't with us as he had to work. We had alot of "paparazzi" after us. Since this was a smaller watertown that means less outsiders. We were called lao wei (old outsider) several times. When you say hello (or I should say ni hao), they just laugh even more.

There was a first today. I tried frog legs straight off the street.
This district is known for the peasant painters. We say some of their works, but didn't buy anything. You can see one of the pictures on the side of the building.
For the most part, it was a nice lazy day strolling up and down the water.

I am loving that art! The mural is pretty cool. I am not loving the flipper still on frog leg. You are a brave woman!
