Good news: No Lump. Bad news: No Excuse to go to Hong Kong!

That is the text message that I sent to my friend, Sue, after I found out from an ultrasound here in China that I don’t have to have a biopsy. PTL! There’s nothing more stressful than getting your baseline mammogram in the states, 9 days before coming back to China only to find that they need to do further work and find that out at 9pm on the Friday night before the Sunday morning at 6:55am you are leaving so there’s nothing you can do. But call International SOS when you get to China and hope you can get the further work done. Which, fortunately, I was able to do! If I needed to do a biopsy, that would probably mean a trip to Hong Kong where the pathology doctors are more educated on the Western ways of doing things. So, good news (really great news) is I have no lump; but now no excuse for a trip to Hong Kong, the shopping mecca, a fun place to be, another excuse to spend money. God must be watching over me, he knows I couldn’t handle that type of temptation right now or maybe that having to have a biopsy may be too stressful on an international assignment. Anyway you put it. I am thankful to the Big Man. Thanks, God!

Praises, praises! I am happy for you that you don't have to worry and sad that you don't get to go to Hong Kong. Maybe y'all can plan a trip before coming back.

Wow! MaryBeth, I cannot imagine a more stressful experience. Two years ago, I had to go back for an ultrasound after a mam. Don and I were both weak in the knees. Luckily, it was nothing to worry about. Call my mom to find out more about Susan's breast cancer journey. It is amazing!
