My best friend, Mer

At Life's a Beach, Lane was loving getting a little messier than I am guessing he normally gets to. He's loving it!

Here's a picture of Meredith and me. I was so blessed to get to spend over 2 weeks with her and her son. We had a great time, but she didn't particularly like the Asian market I took her to that is right by my house. Anyway, here's a picture of she and I at Life's a Beach.

We went on a whirlwind tour that included Toledo Bend, Lake Charles, and me going to Houston for a few days while she spent some time with her dear friend, Patti and her family. We went shopping, eating with the Uncle (Uncle Julio, that is), My favorite tea room, Wonderful World of Cooking, getting pedicures, shopping, entertaining children at the pool, waterparks, shopping, going on a zip line for the first time.

I think that in life, if you are fortunate to have a friend like Meredith, even for a season, you are truly blessed. I am so happy we have been friends since we were 13 and 14. So we have gone through the season of high school, deciding what to do after that, college, early work life, finding husbands, having children, raising children and all the fun that goes through all those stages. If someone knows where the bones are buried, it is Meredith.

I told Meredith she can think of me anytime she wears one of the 13 sweaters we bought while together. So that will probably be almost everyday!

To our defense, Old Navy was just giving some of them away at less than $7 each. You would have to be a smooth criminal to get away from that kind of savings. (So sorry for the Michael Jackson humor, but I can't seem to get away from it, these days)
